Ghanaian artiste manager and fierce critic of the president-elect, Lawrence Nana Asiamah, popularly known as Bulldog, has extended a congratulatory message to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for winning the 2020 presidential elections.
Bulldog, who has never hidden his disappointment in the Akufo-Addo government, particularly for government’s intervention in Menzgold, took to his Facebook to congratulate the President for winning the elections.
He wrote on Facebook, “Congratulations Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo..”
It would be recalled that on many occasions Bulldog has called out the president’s abysmal handling of the banking sector crisis, and had blamed him for the death of some customers of the now defunct gold dealership company Menzgold, and gone ahead to question the existence of God should Nana Addo win the election.
During an interview on Okay FM, he said “I’m telling you this today, if Akufo-Addo wins the December elections then God no dey”.
He continued “This is somebody who has killed people based on his closure of all these banks, I have my money at Menzgold, same as many others. People have lost their lives based on the money they lost at Menzgold,” he lamented.
President Akufo-Addo, who was flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, won the elections with 51.59% of valid votes casts, beating his closest contender, John Mahama of the NDC, who won 47.36% of votes.
In terms of actual figures, the president polled 6,730,413 votes and John Mahama obtained 6,214,889 votes out of a total of over 13 million valid votes from 274 constituencies.
