Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi has been confirmed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) after a decisive vote by Assembly Members.
Boadi, who previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) of Obuasi under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, secured 55 out of 56 votes cast, confirming his victory.
Following his confirmation, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene charged Boadi with tackling some of the city’s most pressing challenges.
“The city is facing significant development challenges, and it is imperative that we address these issues to improve the lives of residents,” Dr. Amoakohene said.
He specifically highlighted the need to decongest the city, improve sanitation, and address issues at the Kejetia Market.
Dr. Amoakohene assured Boadi of the Regional Coordinating Council’s support in addressing these challenges. He emphasized that collaboration between the council and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is crucial to driving development in the city.
With a population of over 3.6 million people, Kumasi’s growth and development are critical to the region’s prosperity.
