The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared an optional Easter break for Form 2 students in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools operating under the Transitional Track system.
The break, scheduled from April 17 to April 21, 2025, allows students to celebrate the Easter festivities with their families.
However, attendance is not compulsory, and students who choose not to travel can remain on campus under proper supervision.
In a directive to Regional Directors of Education, the GES emphasized that students traveling home must return to school by April 22, 2025, to resume academic activities. The directive aims to provide flexibility for students and families during the Easter period without disrupting the academic calendar.
Regional Directors have been tasked with informing affected school heads about the optional break.
