Two policemen in plain clothes were shot dead by suspected armed robbers on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Poyamirea, near Binduri, in the Upper East Region.
The officers were traveling on private motorbikes from Bongo to Binduri when they were ambushed, shot, and killed, and their motorbikes were stolen.
The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt operation to apprehend the attackers.
In a statement, the police expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the deceased officers.
“The perpetrators of this heinous crime would be arrested and made to face justice,” the statement assured.
The police are working diligently to ensure that those responsible for the attack are brought to book, and the public can expect justice to be served.
