The Executive Secretary of the Labour Commission, Ofosu Asamoah, has been terminated from his position, Citi News has confirmed.
Mr. Asamoah, a former Member of Parliament for Kade under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had held the role since 2017.
During his tenure, Asamoah played a key role in overseeing labor-related matters. Notably, he had previously warned striking nurses of potential salary deductions and appointment terminations if they proceeded with their industrial action, citing a court injunction against the strike.
The reasons behind Asamoah’s termination have not been disclosed, leaving room for speculation within political and labor circles. The development marks a significant change in the leadership of the Labour Commission.
