
The Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr. Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaian workers for their tireless contributions to the nation’s development.
In a message to all workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day on Thursday, May 1, Dr. Pelpuo acknowledged the crucial role workers play in driving national progress, describing their dedication, resilience, and hard work as the backbone of the country’s growth.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all Ghanaian workers whose dedication, resilience and hard work continue to drive our nation forward,” he said, urging both employers and government stakeholders to prioritize decent work, fair wages, and safe working conditions across all sectors.
Dr. Pelpuo emphasized the importance of collective commitment to promoting job creation, protecting workers’ rights, and ensuring dignity in labour.
“Let’s renew our collective commitment to decent work, fair wages and safe working conditions for all,” he said.
“The government remains steadfast in advancing policies that promote job creation, protect workers’ rights and ensure dignity in labour.”
Dr. Pelpuo highlighted the significance of the ongoing national reset agenda, stressing that workers are central to achieving meaningful development, particularly in a rapidly changing world of work.
“Happy Labour Day to every worker across Ghana; your contribution is the backbone of our development,” he said.
“Afeyhia pa, and God bless you all, as we move our nation forward and give us the development we require, especially in a situation where we’re resetting this country. We wish you the best” he added.
Dr. Pelpuo’s message underscored the government’s commitment to promoting fair labour practices and supporting the well-being of Ghanaian workers.
