The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has brought an abrupt end to the contracts of all caterers working under the programme across the country.
This decision, announced on May 2, 2025, effectively means that no caterer will be providing meals to students during the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The GSFP’s official statement clearly stated that the termination of contracts is immediate, emphasizing that “all contracts have been terminated with immediate effect” and explicitly instructing that “no current caterer should cook for the third term.”
The GSFP has assured caterers that the government will settle all outstanding payments for the second term. According to the programme, “the government will pay all outstanding money owed to caterers for the second term.”
The GSFP hinted at an impending restructuring, stating that “this is part of a bigger plan to restructure the programme.” New recruitment guidelines will be announced soon.
