
The Tema District Council of Labour held its 2025 May Day Commemoration at the TOR Clubhouse in Tema Community 8 on May 1, 2025, bringing together workers from various sectors to celebrate their contributions to society. Hon. Ashai Odamtten, Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, was the Special Guest at the event.
As a staunch advocate for workers’ rights and welfare, Hon. Odamtten seized the opportunity to express his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of all workers in the Tema District.
He highlighted the importance of fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and the need for continuous efforts to improve the well-being of workers.
Hon. Odamtten also took the moment to express his profound gratitude to the workers for re-electing him to represent them in parliament for a second term, acknowledging the trust and confidence they had placed in him. He reiterated his commitment to serving their interests and addressing their concerns.
Given this year’s theme, “Resetting Pay and Working Conditions: The Role of Stakeholders,” Hon. Odamtten emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between government, employers, and labor unions in addressing the evolving needs and challenges faced by workers.
He stressed that collective efforts would be essential in driving meaningful change and ensuring a better future for workers.
