
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have partnered to recruit 5,000 Fire Service Assistants.
This initiative aims to enhance fire safety and emergency response while providing job opportunities for Ghanaian youth, supporting the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.
The partnership is expected to boost productivity, competitiveness, and job creation. Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed–Mubarak, expressed optimism about the collaboration’s potential to promote youth employment and national development.
The recruitment will strengthen the GNFS’s operations and contribute to the nation’s development, demonstrating the government’s commitment to empowering youth and enhancing fire service capabilities. The initiative addresses recent fire outbreaks and supports national development goals.
Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, thanked the Minister for the Interior for implementing this module and appealed for more similar initiatives.
YEA CEO Malik Basintale and GNFS’s Ag. Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving their mandates.
