The Eastern North Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of stealing a Hyundai Santa Fe with registration number GG 2-18. The vehicle was reported stolen from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra on April 24, 2025.
According to police investigations, the suspects, identified as Kwabena Tawiah, Kwadwo Asiedu, and Dennis Debra alias Kapun, were arrested on April 30, 2025.
Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu were arrested at a hotel in Nkawkaw, while Dennis Debra was arrested at his hideout in Pemenase, Ashanti Region.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu allegedly stole the vehicle and sold it to Dennis Debra for GH₵15,000. A partial payment of GH₵2,000 was made, with the balance yet to be settled. Upon arrest, Dennis Debra was found in possession of the ignition key to the stolen vehicle.
The police have handed over the suspects and the recovered vehicle to the Accra Police for further investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the theft and to ensure justice is served.
