Dr. Yakubu Seidu Adam has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana’s premier healthcare institution. The appointment, announced by the Government of Ghana, takes effect from May 6, 2025.
Dr. Adam succeeds Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah and brings a wealth of experience to the role. A renowned Consultant Eye Surgeon, Dr. Adam has worked at Korle Bu for over two decades and previously headed the Lions International Eye Centre.
With expertise in glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery, Dr. Adam is well-respected in his field. He is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Surgeons and member of several professional organizations.
As CEO, Dr. Adam aims to elevate Korle Bu to new heights through collaboration, innovation, and a pursuit of excellence in healthcare, research, and medical training. His appointment marks a significant moment for the hospital as it continues its journey of transformation.
