The Ghana Police Service has formally requested the Speaker of Parliament to grant them access to Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Minority Leader, to assist in an ongoing investigation.
The investigation stems from a viral video allegedly depicting the MP assaulting a police officer during a recent demonstration.
Following a thorough review of multiple video footages, the police have deemed it necessary to involve Hon. Afenyo-Markin in the investigation to shed light on the incident.
Additionally, the officer allegedly assaulted has been invited to participate in the probe to help establish the facts.
The Ghana Police Service is working diligently to piece together the events surrounding the incident and will take appropriate action based on their findings.
