The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the successful delivery of 8,463 chip-embedded passports to applicants across the country.
The rollout of the new passports and courier delivery service began on April 28, 2025.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, revealed that the recipients received their documents via courier at no extra cost. This initiative aims to reduce processing bottlenecks and minimize the need for physical visits to passport offices.
The new passports feature advanced biometric chips, enhancing security features and aligning Ghana’s travel documentation with international standards.
The steady uptake of the new passports reflects public confidence in the reforms and the growing demand for secure, globally compliant identification systems.
