Ghana has reduced its visa processing time to just 5 working days, a significant drop from the previous 4-6 week timeframe.
This move aims to attract more tourists and investors, aligning with President John Mahama’s vision of positioning Ghana as a prime destination for tourism and investment.
According to Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, applicants will receive a decision on their visa application within the same 5-working-day timeframe, which may result in approval or denial.
The reduced processing time doesn’t guarantee automatic approval; applicants must still meet the necessary requirements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has allocated sufficient resources to Ghana’s diplomatic missions worldwide to support the swift rollout of this initiative.
Minister Ablakwa emphasized that the decision to approve or deny a visa application will be made within the 5-working-day period.
As part of the government’s efforts to boost tourism and investment, this policy shift is expected to enhance Ghana’s reputation as a prime destination.
