Mr. Eric Adjei, CEO of NEIP
The acting CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovative Programme (NEIP), Mr. Eric Adjei, has made a heartfelt appeal to Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) members to return to work.
The strike, which began on June 2, 2025, has disrupted healthcare delivery nationwide due to unresolved issues regarding conditions of service.
Mr. Adjei’s appeal follows a viral video of a patient in distress, with relatives claiming nurses refused care. “We plead with the nurses to go back to work,” Adjei urged. He emphasized the importance of healthcare workers, stating, “Our family members’ lives matter” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Eric Adjei expressed optimism that President John Dramani Mahama will address workers’ concerns, saying, “Some of us strongly believe that President Mahama will make every Ghanaian worker happy in the days to come.”
Meanwhile, the Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has also appealed for an end to the strike, urging nurses to resume negotiations on their Conditions of Service.
According to the Minister, government remains committed to find a solution to their concerns and that, their concerns would be addressed in a fiscally sustainable manner.
