Kamaldeen Sulemana
Atalanta and Southampton have finalised an agreement for the transfer of Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana. The Italian club have been engaged in intensive negotiations with Southampton over the past week to secure the talented winger’s services. The deal was confirmed by renowned transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who announced that the two clubs have reached an agreement.
The financial details of the transfer reveal that Atalanta will pay Southampton €17.5 million in installments, along with an additional €4 million in performance-based bonuses and team success incentives. Southampton, having acquired Sulemana for €25 million in January 2023 from Rennes, will also retain a 15% sell-on clause from any future transfer proceeds involving the Ghanaian player.
Sulemana, aged 23, is expected to undergo a medical examination in the coming days before officially signing a contract with Atalanta. The deal will see the winger remain with the Italian club until June 2029, providing him with a new opportunity to showcase his talent on a prominent European stage.
Joining Atalanta provides Sulemana with the chance to play regular top-flight football in Serie A, one of Europe’s most competitive leagues. Additionally, he will have the exciting prospect of competing in next season’s UEFA Champions League, allowing him to demonstrate his skills on one of the biggest club football platforms.
