The Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi has announced that president John Dramani Mahama will officially launch the GoldBod Task Force on July 8, 2025.
Mr. Gyamfi stated that the Task Force’s work will help protect Ghana’s mineral wealth and ensure that the nation gets the full benefits from its gold resources.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Gyamfi said the Task Force will be inaugurated at the National Security Secretariat, also known as the Blue Gate, in Accra.
Mr. Gyamfi revealed that the task force will fully possess powers just like police officers and will focus on stopping gold smuggling, illegal trading, and price manipulation in the gold sector.
“This special security team will work closely with an intelligence network that is already active across the country,” he explained. “Their job is to monitor and clamp down on unlawful gold trading activities.”
