
The Ghana Police Service has successfully apprehended two employees of a company in North Kaneshie for allegedly masterminding an attempted robbery during a scheduled cash transfer operation.
According to the police, Joseph Danso (alias Nana Yaw) and Fauzan Alhassan were arrested on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, by officers from the Special Support Unit after they were caught trailing a company dispatch rider who was transporting funds to a bank at Abossey Okai.
The suspects allegedly conspired with two other accomplices, identified as Frankie and Asante, to execute the robbery during the cash transfer. Intelligence gathered earlier revealed the plot, and police surveillance mounted ahead of the operation led to the swift arrest of Joseph and Fauzan in the act.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the plot and provided the names of their collaborators. The Ghana Police Service has launched an active manhunt for the remaining suspects and assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
The incident highlights growing concerns over internal security breaches within corporate entities, with law enforcement urging companies to enhance due diligence and background checks on staff involved in financial operations.
