Ghanaian international Abdul Aziz Issah has secured a fresh loan deal with Barcelona Atlètic, extending his stay at the Spanish club until June 2026. The 19-year-old, who initially joined the Catalan side on loan for the 2024/25 season from Dreams FC, will now remain with the Blaugrana’s B team for another season following an agreement between the two clubs.
Issah’s first loan spell saw limited action, with the young winger managing only two appearances and 26 minutes on the pitch in Spain, leading Barcelona to initially decline the purchase option in his contract at the end of the season.
After this, Issah was set to return to Dreams FC in Ghana. However, renewed talks between the clubs has now resulted in an extended loan, giving the promising attacker a second chance to prove himself in Catalonia.
The Ghanaian talent first rose to prominence during his impressive 2023/24 campaign with Dreams FC where he scored four goals and contributed two assists in the CAF Confederation Cup, helping his team reach the semifinals.
Notably, his long-range strike against Lobito was nominated for CAF Goal of the Year. Despite limited opportunities in Spain, Issah kept his form with the Ghana U20 national team, scoring Ghana’s opener in the U20 AFCON quarterfinals against Egypt and earning a Man of the Match award.
Issah’s versatility as a left-footed winger capable of playing across the attacking line, combined with his pace, ball control, and goal-scoring instincts, have made him one of Ghana’s exciting prospects.
At just 19, he has already featured in multiple continental competitions and attracted attention from various European clubs.
Barcelona Atlètic will now be hoping that this extended loan spell leads to more regular game time and further development for the young forward at their club.
With renewed confidence and continued encouragement from his performances with both club and country, Abdul Aziz Issah’s return to Barcelona presents an important opportunity to advance his budding career in European football.
The coming 2025/26 season will be critical for the Ghanaian to secure his place and showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
