Ghana’s chancery in Addis Ababa now houses staff who manage consular services, trade and investment promotion, and Ghana’s engagement with AU organs, functions that embassies in the city typically perform. Ghana and Ethiopia have long-standing diplomatic ties and are among the member states that participated in post‑colonial pan‑African institutions dating to the Organization of African Unity and its successor, the African Union.
