President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm wishes to Muslims in Ghana and around the world as they begin the holy month of Ramadan, urging them to embrace the values of reflection, compassion and national unity.
In a message marking the start of the sacred month, President Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama, conveyed their heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community. He described Ramadan as a significant period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline and communal harmony.
The President encouraged Muslims observing the fast to use the period for introspection and prayer, asking them to seek good health, peace of mind and divine mercy throughout the month. He emphasized that beyond abstaining from food and drink, Ramadan represents an opportunity to strengthen faith and extend kindness and generosity to those in need.
President Mahama also called for deeper national cohesion, urging citizens to reinforce the bonds that unite the country and to uphold peace and mutual respect during the holy season.
He concluded his message by wishing Muslims a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan and praying that their acts of worship and devotion would be accepted.
Muslims in Ghana are observing the month-long fast from dawn to sunset, dedicating the period to prayer, charity and reflection in accordance with Islamic tradition.
