The incident reportedly occurred during a district-level athletics event on February 19, 2026, and sparked widespread condemnation on social media after the video surfaced online.
Following investigations, some students captured in the footage were arrested and arraigned before the Agona Swedru Magistrate Court. Two students were remanded into custody for two weeks on charges including conspiracy to commit assault , while another was granted bail after pleading for leniency.
The school indicated that it will apply appropriate internal disciplinary measures in line with the outcome of ongoing legal proceedings. It also pledged to strengthen guidance and counselling services, reinforce discipline, and intensify character education to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Authorities have appealed for calm as the legal process takes its course.
