Security expert Vladimir Antwi-Danso has cautioned that escalating tensions involving United States, Israel and Iran could trigger a renewed wave of terrorist threats targeting Americans worldwide.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Prof. Antwi-Danso warned that direct military actions against Iran may provoke retaliatory responses not only through conventional warfare but also through asymmetric attacks.
According to him, history shows that attempts at regime change or sustained foreign military intervention often produce unintended consequences, including the rise of extremist networks. He referenced past global conflicts where instability created fertile grounds for terrorism, stressing that American citizens both at home and abroad could become vulnerable if the crisis deepens.
The remarks, come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Recent military exchanges have intensified fears of broader regional instability, with concerns that proxy groups or radicalized actors could exploit the situation to stage attacks.
Prof. Antwi-Danso emphasized that terrorism thrives in prolonged conflict environments and warned that the fallout from the current standoff may extend far beyond the immediate battlefield. He urged global powers to pursue diplomatic solutions to prevent escalation and limit the risk of retaliatory violence.
He concluded that while military superiority may shape short-term outcomes, the long-term security implications particularly the threat of terrorism must remain a central consideration in any strategic decision.
