The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 34 new cases of Mpox, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 79. According to officials, four patients are currently admitted and under close observation.
According GHS, it has intensified contact tracing efforts to contain the spread of the disease. Health authorities are working to identify individuals who may have come into contact with the infected patients.
The recent surge in cases has sparked concern among the public, but health officials have assured citizens that the situation is under control. “We urge the public to remain calm and adopt preventive measures to reduce the risk of transmission,” GHS said.
The GHS recommends that citizens maintain good personal hygiene, avoid close contact with individuals exhibiting symptoms, and seek prompt medical attention if symptoms appear. These measures include regular handwashing with soap and water, avoiding contact with people with unexplained rashes, and visiting a health facility promptly if symptoms develop.
The GHS continues to monitor the situation closely and is working to prevent further spread of the disease. Citizens are advised to report suspected cases promptly and follow public health guidelines to minimize the risk of transmission.
