Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has visited Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals in Telangana, India, to discuss possible areas of cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
The visit formed part of his working tour of India aimed at identifying opportunities that can support job creation and improve access to healthcare in Ghana.
At Virupaksha, Dr. Pelpuo was briefed on the company’s operations, including its focus on producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
He expressed interest in building a partnership that could lead to local production of essential medicines in Ghana, helping to reduce import dependency and improve medicine availability.
This engagement is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Ghana and India, with particular focus on practical collaborations that support development goals.
