
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of the Greater Accra Region on Friday, July 18, 2025. The outage, which will last from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is part of ECG’s ongoing efforts to improve electricity distribution and service delivery.
Affected areas include Sowutuom, Israel, Race Course, Shiabu, Beach Road, Gbawe Gonse, Joma Agbozome, Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie, Ayikai Doblo, Fise Roca, Mericresent, Opah Township, Red Gate, and surrounding communities.
ECG stated that the maintenance activity is part of routine upgrades intended to enhance the reliability and quality of power supply to customers. The company apologized for any inconvenience the outage may cause and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of affected customers.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and plan ahead to minimize the impact of the temporary outage.
ECG emphasized that the maintenance works are essential for strengthening the power distribution network and ensuring efficient energy delivery across Ghana.
