Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, TDC MD
The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd, Mr Courage Makafui Nunekpeku is demanding an immediate retraction and apology from 3news.com over what he described as defamatory publication.
A letter sent to the media organisation through his legal team, Machel Stanley, reads “We are lawyers for Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd., and write to you upon his instructions. It has come to our client’s attention that on 31st July, 2025 your online news portal (3news.com) published on your website, www.3news.com: ‘TDC boss sued over alleged land grab as secret night- work videos emerge!”.
The said publication, according to the letter, contains false and defamatory statements, including allegations that the MD is engaged in a construction project on unlawfully seized land for personal gain, and aided by military personnel.
“These allegations are entirely false, unfounded and lack any credible evidence. They are presented as fact, despite being unproven claims in a pending lawsuit and has caused severe harm to our client’s reputation as a respected professional and public servant”, it added.
The legal team is therefore demanding an immediate public retraction of the defamatory article with equal prominence as the original article, clarifying that the allegations are unproven and correcting the false narrative.
“You should immediately remove the offending article from your website and social media platforms and cease any further publication or re-publication of the said defamatory statements in any planned or future discussions”, the lawyers warned.
The letter added further that “Should you fail to comply with the above demand within 72 hours, we have our client’s instructions to commence a defamation action against you and claiming damages for reputational harm and other losses without further recourse to you”.
Meanwhile, the Head of Communication of TDC has also denied granting any interview as it is indicated in the report by the media organisation.
