
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced Saturday, 6th September, 2025, to organize its parliamentary primaries to elect a candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Tamale Central constituency in the Northern Region.
The governing party in a statement released yesterday Wednesday, August 20, announced guidelines for the parliamentary primaries ahead of the polls slated for September 30.
The NDC General Secretary, Fiifi Fiave Kwetey, who signed the statement, disclosed that nomination forms will be available at the NDC Northern Regional Office, and that the completed documents are also expected to be submitted there.
Prospective aspirants will pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GH¢5,000 and a filing fee of GH¢40,000 to be paid in cash only into the party’s official account at UMB Bank, Adabraka Branch.
Fiifi Kwetey, however, said female aspirants and persons with disabilities are entitled to a 50 percent reduction on the filing fee.
“Please, note that no cheques or bankers’ drafts will be accepted. All payments must be made directly into the designated account” the statement emphasized.
The General Secretary added that a certified copy of the delegates list will be made available to all aspirants after the vetting process.
Meanwhile, the party has admonished all prospective aspirants and stakeholders to comply strictly with the directives and conduct their campaigns and related activities with decorum, unity and fairness.
