Fire has erupted at a Chinese warehouse in Laterbiokoshie vicinity near Radio Gold in Accra according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Service said the blaze broke out in the afternoon prompting an immediate response from the fire department.
The GNFS said the fire is currently under control and being prevented to spread to adjoining buildings. The warehouse is said to be occupied with combustible materials.
The GNFS confirmed that six fire tenders have been dispatched promptly to quench the fire.
Although official casualty figures are not yet available, early indications suggest that there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The GNFS entreated residents and neighbours to stay away from the scene as the fumes emanating from the fire is harmful to human health.
“We understand the affected goods are predominantly leather products and plastic products and so we want to entreat neighbours and residents who live around to be cautious because the fumes that this fire is giving out is not conducive for human health,” GNFS noted.
