Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene of Dormaa Traditional Council has taken a decisive step in the fight against galamsey within his Traditional Council, an area in the Bono Region.
The vocal traditional leader is known for speaking against corruption and illegality in governance. He recently urged the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to take Operation Return All loot (ORAL) seriously.
This time around the Dormaahene has taken off his crown and along with the Dormaa anti-galamsey task force and chiefs from the Dormaa Traditional Council, conducted an operation at Dormaa-Akwamu, Akontanim, and Kobedi to address illegal mining (galamsey) activities.
During the operation, three individuals were arrested, and seven water pumping machines were seized. They have been handed over to the Ghana Police Service.
Dormaahene Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has since issued a stern warning to anyone involved in illegal mining on Dormaa stool lands, ordering them to cease immediately or face consequences if apprehended.
