Former President, John Dramani Mahama has described the late Ama Benyiwa Doe as a person of limitless courage.
Mr. Mahama in a tribute shared on Facebook said the late NDC stalwart was not only a politician but also a gender activist par excellence and a champion of women’s right.
“I have received with deep sadness, news of the demise of one of the most inspirational icons to have served our party, the NDC, and this great nation.”
“She was not only a politician, but also a gender activist and champion of women’s rights. Ama Benyiwa Doe was an embodiment of limitless courage, commitment and passion for service,” Mr. Mahama said
The one-time Central Regional Minister under the Mills government reportedly died on the morning of Sunday, September 19 at age 73 after a protracted ailment according to her aide.
