Kim Kardashian West has officially achieved billionaire status, with her net worth reaching $1 billion (about £720 million).
The star’s financial success is down to her cosmetics and clothing ventures, as well as TV work, endorsement deals and investments, reports Forbes.
Kardashian West now joins the 2,755 others on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List, which is led by Amazon found Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $177 billion.
Bumble dating app founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, filmmaker Tyler Perry and Kardashian West’s estranged husband Kanye West are already on the billionaire list, according to the BBC.
Her half-sister Kylie Jenner was removed from the list last year, as Forbes said the family had inflated the value of Kylie Cosmetics.
Kardashian West’s net worth increased significantly from $780 million to $1 billion in October 2020, primarily due to her stakes in KKW Beauty cosmetics and the success of her Skims shapewear company.
KKW Beauty cosmetics launched in 2017 and Skims two years later; the latter was initially named Kimono but was rebranded to Skims following accusations of cultural appropriation.
The reality TV star and entrepreneur announced in February that she was filing for divorce from Kanye West. They’ve been married for six years and have four children together: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
