The Central Regional Police Command has assured residents of the region, particularly those in and around Kasoa where there seems to be an upsurge of crime that the command is ready to fight the criminals head on.
Giving evidence of the command’s preparedness to fight the disturbing levels of crime rate in Kasoa, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mrs Habiba Twumasi Sarpong said personnel strength at both Kasoa and the Millennium Divisions have been augmented.
At a press briefing in Cap Coast yesterday, DCOP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong indicated that as part of the efforts to curb the menace of crime in Kasoa and its immediate surroundings, police tents would be mounted in the town to increase police visibility.
Additionally, vehicular, motor and foot patrols have been intensified already while the Police in collaboration with opinion leaders are negotiating to form more community watch committees.
According to the commander, Media education/community engagements are ongoing within the two divisions and its environs while informants have been cultivated to help with information sharing.
In recent times, Kasoa, which is arguably the fastest growing community in the Central Region, has become the hub of all forms of criminal activities and safe haven for hardened criminals.
