200 soldiers deployed to remove persons mining in water bodies

Two hundred (200) soldiers have been deployed as part of an operation to remove all persons and logistics involved in mining in Ghana’s water bodies. The soldiers were deployed on the orders of the President Akufo-Addo.

The exercise started on Wednesday April 28, 2021, on the River Pra in the Central and Western Region.

In a statement issued by the information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, the Ministry of Defence and the Ghana Armed forces will provide a detailed brief of developments and sustainability efforts on Friday, 30th April 2021.
