Achimota School rejects Court order to admit Rastafarian Students; directs lawyers to appeal

The Achimota School has rejected the Accra High Court judgement ordering it to admit the two Rastafari students who were denied admission because of their dreadlocks.

The Human Rights Court One, presided over by Justice Gifty Adjei Addo, on Monday May 31 2021 held that failure to admit Tyron Iras Marhguy and Oheneba Nkrabea, because of their dreadlocks, which is a manifestation of their religious right is a violation of their human rights, right to education and dignity.
