A  Chinese national, Aisha Huang, who was deported in 2019 for engaging in illegal mining in the country has been re-arrested for the same offenses.

The suspect has been charged with mining without a licence, and engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without a valid licence.

A GNA report indicates that she was arrested with three others — Johng Li Hua, Huang Jei and Huaid Hai Hun who were brought before an Accra Circuit Court Friday, September 2.

The court is said to have preserved Aisha’s plea because there was no Chinese interpreter.

The suspects were subsequently remanded and are expected to re-appear in court on September 14, 2022.
