The Black Stars of Ghana finished third in the Kirin Cup tournament in Japan after beating Chile on penalties.

The match ended in a goalless draw after full time despite the Stars losing 2 men to red cards.

Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen was the hero of the Black Stars after saving two penalties.

The Black Stars started the game the better of the two sides, with Ghana dominating possession but failed to create clear-cut chances.

The Chileans took advantage of a nine-man Ghana team to dominate the final ten minutes, with Gary Medel coming close with a long-range strike.

Ghana maintained their composure to force the game into penalties and won 3-1.

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, made five changes to his team for their second match in the Kirin Cup in Japan on Tuesday morning.

After losing the semi-final 4-1 to Japan last Friday, the Black Stars face Chile in the 3rd/4th place playoff at the Panasonic Stadium in Osaka.

Eupen goalkeeper, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen replaced Lawrence Ati Zigi while Alidu Seidu played at right-back with Edmund Addo, Baba Rahman and Daniel Amartey completing the backline.

Andre Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, and Mohammed Kudus formed the midfield trio with Benamin Tetteh, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Felix Afena Gyan were the forwards chosen by Otto Addo.
