Former Ghana Youth star Ransford Osei has announced his retirement from football at age 30.
Osei announced his retirement in an interview in Germany with German based journalist.
The 30-year old begun his career at Kesben FC in Ghana from 2005 – 2008. He had spells with other clubs until he joined Asante Kotoko in the 2012/2013 season where he scored 3 goals in 19 appearances.
He moved to South African side Polokwane City in 2015 and exited in 2016.
The striker last joined Lithuania club Palanga in 2018 where he made 3 appearances.
Osei got the recognition at the 2009 U-20 African Cup of Nations and World Cup where he contributed greatly to the winning of the trophies.
He bagged the golden boot in the 2007 Africa U-17 Championship and 2009 Africa Youth Championship. He also won the silver boot the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup
He was recognized by World Soccer Magazine as one of the 50 Most Exciting Teenagers on the Planet in their November 2007 Issue.
Ransford Osei made 2 appearances for the Black Stars in the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
