The Police Administration has interdicted four police officers working with the Northern Regional Police command for their alleged involvement in assaults of some persons in Tamale in the Northern Region on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

 

In a video circulating on social media, these police officers were assigned to assist NEDCO/VRA officials to arrest persons involved in illegal electricity connections in Tamale but were seen assaulting the suspects.

In a press release signed by the acting Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police, ACP Kwesi Ofori the four officers will face a service inquiry subject to the regulations of the Ghana Police and processes have already commenced to identify the victims for the necessary medical assessment and assistance.

The Police Administration has therefore apologized to the victims and the general public.
