NewsWire GH reported the outbreak of Ebola in Tamale following reports by the Ghana News Agency and Citi News.

The report indicated that Ghana Health Service had confirmed it has recorded a case of Ebola in the Tamale metropolis.

The Citi News report quoted the Northern Regional Disease Control Officer, Dr. Fuseini Mahama saying “We are on top of the situation. It is just a single case for now. Fortunately, we were able to pick this case and the case is responding to treatment.”

It turned out to be a simulation exercise and not a real outbreak as indicated by the report.

NewsWire GH apologises to its audience and the public for the inconvenience created by the report.
