Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia is urging John Dramani Mahama not to go to court without pink sheets else his case will die a natural death.
Responding to Mahama’s do or die comment at the Ghana Construction Industry Excellence Awards said there will be no need to go to court to challenge an election result when one has no pink sheets to make his case.
“Let me congratulate the award winners for tonight. And I wish those who could not make it better luck in 2022. You know when you go for these competitions and awards, it is not do or die. So we wish you better luck in 2022. But seriously if you go to court to challenge an election result and you have no pink sheet, then your case will die,” Bawumia said.
Mr. Bawumia’s comment follows a statement made by former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking with Techiman based radio station, Akina FM, Mr. Mahama stated that the 2020 elections taught the NDC that elections can only be won at the polling stations, thus they will not let their guards down.
He said the elections “will be won or lost at the polling station.
At the polling station. “it will be do or die”. Clarifying that he was not referring to “All die be die”, he reiterated that it will be “do or die. The right thing must be done.”
He said the NDC will not wait till the collation stage or wait for court process, “at the polling station and collation center, we will do everything to make sure the elections is free, fair and transparent.
