Ghanaian international musician Stonebwoy has said football fans the world over will miss the Ghana Black Stars during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
He was reacting to Ghana’s concerning failure to qualify for the continental tournament, and the implied necessity for reforms in the Otto Addo-led team, and even at the Kurt Okraku-led Ghana Football Association (GFA).
“It’s sad. I can’t believe it. I’m still in disbelief but that is the reality,” the singer-songwriter and music executive remarked.
“This tells you that we have things to work [on] with the team [and the] Ghana Football Association. I hope that this is taken care of so that next time we make it.”
Stonebwoy fondly reminisced though disgraced, Ghana was an iconic four-time AFCON champion with storied performances at previous AFCON games, noting they would be missed in Morocco.
“At least [for the] African Cup, Ghana has always been a beautiful team to watch,” he said.
“So I don’t know what the world will be watching now without Ghana. I know they will miss the Ghana team but it’s unfortunate.”
The Into the Future hitmaker, also, recalled the good times he had being in the stands at the Cote d’Ivoire AFCON 2023 games.
“Last AFCON, I was there and I witnessed it and you [could] tell I loved and enjoyed it,” he said.
