FC Copenhagen has signed 18-year-old Ghanaian winger David Boison Frimpong on a season-long loan from Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The promising Ghanaian joins the Danish Superliga giants’ talent department on a one-year deal that includes an option to buy following a successful trial period with the club.
In an official club statement, Copenhagen confirmed the arrival of Frimpong, highlighting his addition to their youth setup as part of the club’s ongoing focus on nurturing international prospects. “FC Copenhagen’s Talent Department has secured the services of 18-year-old Ghanaian winger David Boison Frimpong from Medeama SC for the 2025/26 season. The loan agreement includes a purchase option,” the club said in the announcement.
Mikkel Køhler, Head of Scouting & Recruitment at FCK Talent, expressed enthusiasm about the new signing’s potential. “David is a very exciting left-footed winger who has already featured in several first-team games for Medeama SC and also gained experience in the CAF Champions League. He’s an international talent we’re thrilled to have join our U19 setup, which resumed training on Monday. The loan agreement allows both parties to assess the fit moving forward,” Køhler noted.

Frimpong is expected to make his initial impact with the club’s U19 squad and development side, offering him the chance to acclimate to Danish football while showcasing his talents. The deal provides an opportunity for the teenager to earn promotion to the first team, depending on his developmental progress and performance throughout the season.
During the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Frimpong made 18 appearances for Medeama SC and played an influential role in their campaign. His arrival at Copenhagen underlines the Danish club’s commitment to attracting emerging international talent and providing a pathway to senior football in Europe.
