
The Accra Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the violent incidents that marred the parliamentary re-run in the Ablekuma North Constituency on July 11, 2025.
The suspects, identified as Musah Muntari, a 46-year-old Station Manager at STC, and Ali Saeed, also known as Mboma, a 43-year-old businessman, are currently assisting the police with investigations into the violence and assaults reported during the by-election.
In a statement signed on Wednesday, July 23 by Supt. Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the police assured the public of their unwavering commitment to bringing all perpetrators of election-related violence, intimidation, or misconduct to justice.
The police urged the public to continue cooperating with them and to share credible information by contacting emergency lines 18555 or 191.
The Ablekuma North re-run, which was held to determine the area’s representative in Parliament, was marred by disturbances at several polling centers, prompting public concern and calls for accountability.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its stance on maintaining law and order to ensure that democratic processes remain peaceful and credible.
