The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to address Parliament on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, regarding the payment of statutory funds and other crucial financial matters.
This development was announced by Majority Leader and Business Committee Chair, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, during the presentation of the Business Statement for the week ending June 6, 2025.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the upcoming week will see 11 ministers appearing before Parliament to respond to a total of 72 questions. The House will also be open to policy statements from some ministers, as well as discussions on papers and reports from various committees.
A query was raised by Deputy Minority Whip, Mr. Habib Iddrisu, and Minority Chief Whip, Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, regarding the timing of the Mid-Year Budget presentation.
They also expressed concern over the President’s decision to declare only one public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha, contrary to earlier promises of two days.
In response, Mr. Ayariga assured the House that the Mid-Year Budget would be presented in due course.
He further stated that the Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, would soon appear before Parliament to amend the Public Holidays Bill, aligning it with the President’s promise on Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
