
Joseph Ade Coker, a veteran politician and former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has died after a short illness. He passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.
Ade Coker was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, known for his outspoken views on national and political issues. He served as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC from 2009 to 2022, before losing his re-election bid to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.
In addition to his political career, Ade Coker was also a respected sports administrator, having served as Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). His leadership and commitment to both politics and sports earned him widespread recognition and respect.
