Ghanaian travelers can now breathe a sigh of relief as Ghana and Morocco have signed a visa-free travel agreement.
The deal, announced by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, allows Ghanaians to visit Morocco with a simple online travel authorization that can be obtained within 24 hours.
“This new arrangement will make it much easier for Ghanaians to visit Morocco,” Mr. Ablakwa said. “It will boost tourism, trade, and friendship between our two nations.”
The agreement follows a meeting between Mr. Ablakwa and Morocco’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita, and is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between African countries.
To support the new travel deal, the number of direct flights between Ghana and Morocco will be increased. Mr. Ablakwa emphasized the importance of African borders serving as connectors rather than dividers, saying, “Our borders should not divide us. They must become bridges that connect our people.”
The online travel authorization system is expected to streamline travel between the two countries, promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
